"Civilized life has altogether grown too tame, and if it is to be stable, it must provide harmless outlets for the impulses which our remote ancestors satisfied in hunting" — Bertrand Russell

I have found no 'outlet' to replace hunting. So I don't try. I hunt, but I think and think and think about it.

Guilt. Sometimes...

But I eat meat, so I feel like I have to get some of it myself.

These pictures represent yesterday's hunt, the last hunt of the year...Pine Hen...a bit of protein in the cold time.

Next, up? Turkey, in late March into April. I will have to make do with the camera until then.
